Dear Partners in Prayer, Betty Young called requesting prayers for John Morgan, who is a long-time parishioner along with his wife. John is having many issues with his heart and kidneys. He is currently in the hospital as doctors prepare to place a motor in his heart. Let us ask our loving Lord to give John and his wife the help and comfort needed through these difficult times. We also ask that the doctors and nurses are guided to use their skills to serve John and all those in need with God’s grace and strength. Blessings, Dawn and Deacon Chris
Dear Prayer Warriors, I just got off of the phone with Parish Business Manager, Oscar Melendez. It seems that Gloria (his wife) wasn’t feeling well this morning. So Oscar took her to the Doctor. Well, they are on their way to St. John’s in Ventura for a “procedure”. Please keep Gloria in your prayers as well as Oscar and the rest of his family. Pray for a speedy recovery. These things are so hard to handle and what with the Holiday’s coming it just seems to make things harder. Pray, that the Lord Jesus bless the Melendez family at this trying time.
My Uncle, Bob Huber, is having back surgery at Travis Air Force Base on Friday. He proudly served and now the young medical team will be helping him. There has been months of debilitating pain while walking. Please pray for the doctors to be able to fix this with a minimum of complications. Two years ago he had a massive heart attack with a five way bypass, so he keeps his guardian angel busy. THank you. As a side note, but also a prayer to add in your daily ones; There are families that are hurting in many ways, not just this holiday season (though things seem to peek at this time) but daily life is difficult for so many. Some of these folks have health challenges, employment challenges (two friends have lost their income in the last two months), children, family, financial, substance abuse or separation. It has been my experience that no matter how well you know people, you do not know what goes on when you leave their company, behind their doors. So be kind, be patient, say a prayer for our fellow men and women and families. Thanks Deb
Just a brief note from both Ron and Ila: Dear Family, Friends and St. Thomas Community, One further update – Ron spent a week in the hospital and is doing well at home with Livingston Home Health giving us support in every way. He is very tired, but blessedly has very little pain. Ron thinks he should be further down the road, but the doctor is pleased with his progress so far. We are told it will be a long recovery time. Your prayers, healing thoughts, cards, love and support shown are most appreciated and we are humbled and grateful. Ron & Ila

Dear Prayer Friends, I have just received news that Jacob Fickel’s son Blair is getting worse! Please take some time out of your day and offer up your prayers for this very special young man. This young man, who when healthy, is at morning mass everyday. Jacob and his family need all the strength that our prayers can muster, on the heels of the death of his oldest son James William earlier this fall.
