* * *Subject: **My mother in serious car accident* Dear Chris, Please let the prayer group know that my mother, Mary Jane Wallace, a very active member at Sacred Heart Church, was in a serious car accident on Thursday afternoon in Ventura. She was in ICU at Ventura County Medical Center, but they moved her to a surgical ward. Her sternum and some ribs were broken and her ankle was shattered. She will go into surgery later this afternoon. In addition to these recent injuries, she has congestive heart failure which is complicating medical decisions. She is mostly coherent and is able to make decisions, though pain and pain medication has its effects. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Jean Wallace Smith

I would like to request prayers for my neighbor and friend, Kay Skeeters, who recently suffered injury to her brain when she fell down her stairs. She was found to have three aneurysms. She is out of hospital and back at home with constant care and therapy. Let us pray for a full and speedy recovery. Thank you. Delia

Dear Prayer Line, Please keep my neighbor Carolyn Embury in your prayers. She has recently had several serious neurological problems in her brain. She needs our prayers. In addition, Carolyn suffers from severe back pain. She has had many surgeries on her back. Her brain scan shows multiple problems and she is with good reason very frightened. Carolyn is so adventurous and brave, but right now she is understandably has a lot of worry. Please pray for her. Also, please pray for the family of Gene Carper. He got sick and died shortly thereafter on the very day that he was helping a fellow veteran. Gene was a true friend of my Dad and Mom. He built a wheelchair ramp for my Mom in one day. He visited my Mom regularly after my Dad passed away. Also, please pray for the family of Deb and Bob Young. Bob lost his younger brother. May Jesus comfort their family. God bless all of you. Hi Deacon Chris & Dawn, It’s been a long day. Wed received a telephone call this morning that Bob’s brother Mark passed away, Framingham Mass. He had an unbeatable invasion of cancer and multiple health challengs in his last days. We are feeling that he was blessed with a quick journey home and was kept pain free. Please keep Richard and Sheryl in your prayers. An update from Sheryl: Pathology has been zeroing into what organism has infected Rich’s spine. This afternoon we heard they have sent the samples off to another lab. We know it is a very rare bacteria. We have been in Cottage Hospital for a full week now and have no idea when we will be able to go home. This ordeal has sent Rich’s heart a racing. This has been a test of our patience.
