Please pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Deacon Jimmy Salas and consolation for his wife Lupe and their family. Deacon Jimmy ministered at St. Cyprian Church in Long Beach. Deacon Jimmy and Lupe went through diaconate formation with Deacon Phil and Mary Nelson ending with their ordination five years ago on 6/11/16.

Back in January I asked if you would all pray for my 17-year old granddaughter, Claire Fontanella, who had been diagnosed with an 'invasive malignant melanoma' on her back. This was not a sun-caused melanoma but rather a fast growing kind frequently associated with adolescents and young adults. After my last couple of visits with my oncologist we discussed going for a clinical trial. I went on the 16th to talk with a USC doctor about starting one. I feel pretty good but am having some back pain, chest pain, a cough and I don't have much of an appetite. My cancer treatments, up until now, are not working much in my favor. The USC doctor says I'm a good candidate for the clinical trial so I'm going to try to get into the trial.
