Please pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Deacon Jimmy Salas and consolation for his wife Lupe and their family. Deacon Jimmy ministered at St. Cyprian Church in Long Beach. Deacon Jimmy and Lupe went through diaconate formation with Deacon Phil and Mary Nelson ending with their ordination five years ago on 6/11/16.

Our sister, Eileen, has been diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer. It has matastisized to many other organs in her body. She has had two weeks of radiation to shrink the tumors in her brain and back. Today, Monday,she begin immunotherapy to kill the cancer cells throughout her body. As most of you have heard, my sister Carol passed away on September 6. She was initially admitted to St. John's in Oxnard with a diagnosis of pneumonia in mid-August. He neck was swelling and sores appeared on her chest. Her oncologist was on vacation and not much treatment was happening beyond antibiotics and extra oxygen, so after a week there my sister Beth began to advocate for her and to ask for further testing. Please pray for a local boy, Davis Tate, who has suffered extensive injuries from a 30 foot fall in Canada last week. He had surgery and doctors are hopeful he may be able to walk again in a year.
