The theme for the Congress of Religious Education 2019
March 21-24
Congress is for everyone – not only for people in ministry at the parish. If you’ve been wanting to understand and grow more in faith, but need a little help getting there, please consider this: it is a weekend of amazing speakers, workshops, prayer experiences, art exhibits, and a beautiful sacred space for prayer and reflection with the Blessed Sacrament. If you haven’t been in a while or have never been, please consider attending the 2019 Congress in Anaheim on March 21 - 24, 2019. If you can’t commit for the entire weekend, try one day to check it out! If you have any questions or would like to know more about it, please feel free to contact Aina Yates at 646-4338 x 111. Year 2 Parent Connect - Sept. 29th
This week's Confirmation class focused on the Sacrament of Confirmation as the completion of baptismal grace and the sacrament of Christian maturity. We also went over some misconceptions candidates may have about receiving the sacrament. Our candidates took some time to look over the baptismal promises you made on their behalf when they were baptized (if they were baptized as infants). We then took time at the end of the session to prayerfully focus ourselves on the remainder of the preparation. Parent Connect - September 29th
This week at Confirmation we talked about the existence of God and the implications this has on our lives. Teenagers will likely have a discussion with someone who does not believe in God or who challenges their belief in God at some during high school. This week we began to give teenagers some practical reasons why there is a Creator, and that Creator is God. This week in Confirmation we discussed the relationship our faith has to the Sacrament of Baptism. Baptism is our gateway to life in Christ, and it plants the seed of faith within us. Take time this week to talk with your candidate about their baptism. Talk about the day, the people who were there, the priest who baptized them, and the church they were baptized in.
