Blog Posts (Announcements)
Blog Posts are used to display events on the website. There is one listing of event with each event being assigned to one and only one category. The category controls where the event will be displayed on the website. A listing of the categories, their description, and where and how they are displayed is shown in the table below.
The events are displayed in two different views. The first is on a monthly calendar view. This view shows all the events for a given month that match the categories that were selected when the calendar was added to the webpage. There are buttons that allow the viewer to view previous or later months. The second was to display events is in an "Upcoming Events" agenda view that displays a set number of the next events in preselected categories. For an event to show up in this view the "Show this event in the Upcoming Events widget" checkbox must be checked when creating or editing the event.

| Parish | Parish or outside events and activities that don't fit one of the categories below. These are usually events with a set start and end. Examples include the parish festival, events in the Aquinas Center Hall, One Live LA, etc. |

| Liturgy | All day events to mark significant liturgical days such as Holy Days, Saint's Days, etc. Specific liturgies such as the Easter Vigil or confirmation should be posted in the Parish category. |

| Ministry | All administrative, fellowship (except youth group) and pastoral ministry events such as: council meetings, homeless shelter, food pantry, etc. |

| Religious Education | This is a special category that is used to display an event on all of the calendars related to Religious Education |
