The Christ Child is Born to Us Today

From Fr. Tom

This sacred holiday is a time to encounter Jesus anew in faith. Let Jesus renew you in his love and the Holy Spirit. How precious a gift is our faith. In the rush of our daily lives Jesus is waiting for us with His light and guidance and forgiveness. We Catholics are so lucky to have His Sacraments to nourish us and fill us with His mercy and love. In our baptism God chose us to be holy like Jesus - the holy one of God. This is the ultimate gift of Christmas – Jesus living within us.

With Christ the light we recognize the many gifts He gives us. We remember that we are merely stewards of these gifts, and we must use them for the common good, including using them to invest in our beautiful parish which we have received, as gift, from those who have gone before us.

What greater gift could there be than the love of the Father who desires to fill us with His very life, called grace. He gives us His love, peace and joy. This is the God who through Jesus travels with us on our pilgrimage through this life. This is the God who yearns for us to successfully end our pilgrimage in His arms. My prayer for you this Christmas is that you come to know and recognize God’s loving gaze on you. May we humbly adore the infant Jesus. May He bring peace into your soul and bring abundant blessings into your home May every heart be opened to the Prince of Peace by a fervent reception of His Sacrament of love – Holy Communion.

The entire staff of St. Thomas Aquinas parish wishes you a most blessed Christmas, to you and your family.

Fr. Tom
