Happy feast of St. Matthias, dear family and friends!
Today begins the novena leading up to the feast of St. Rita on May 22, which is also the day of my mom's surgery. St. Rita was Rosie's greatly loved patronness, and my parents' Augustinian parish prays a special novena to St. Rita every year, so we feel it's a little special mark of God's love that her feast was the date selected for surgery.
We will be praying a novena to St. Rita, and would love it if you care to join us! If you want me to send you daily reminders, please let me know.
Holy Patroness of those in need, St. Rita, you were humble, pure and patient. Your pleadings with your divine Spouse are irresistible, so please obtain for me from our risen Jesus the request I make of you: for all Our Lady's intentions for Rose Grimm, especially, if it be God's will, an entirely successful surgery, an easy recovery, and her speedy and complete cure. Be kind to me for the greater glory of God, and I shall honor you and sing your praises forever. Glorious St. Rita, you miraculously participated in the sorrowful passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Obtain for me now the grace to suffer with resignation the troubles of this life, and protect me in all my needs. Amen.

Please pray for Natalie Savaso, 16 year old, longtime classmate of Marlene Lattimer’s grand daughter. Natalie has dysautonomia. This is a disorder of nervous system. Her body is unable to control many systems of the body - such as breathing, body temperature, blood pressure and all the automatic functions of the body that are taken for granted.
The outlook for people with chronic progressive dysautonomia have a generally poor long-term prognosis.
Thank you for keeping Natalie in your prayers.Read more
Our dear Eileen has been put on Hospice and is beginning her final steps of her journey to heaven. Please pray for her, her husband Drew, her kids Hannah and Cameron, and all her siblings and family. Our hearts are so heavy with sorrow at this time. Please also be respectful of her large family and their need to share these days with her. Visits need to be prearranged and very short. Eileen has been constantly aware of and so thankful for the prayers and love of her parish family. May we all continue to storm the heavens with prayer...Read more
