Pastor's Message for 1/5/2020
Happy New Year to all!
I have so enjoyed journeying through Advent and now Christmas with you all, and now I find myself looking forward to the year ahead and offering you all my prayers that you may persevere in fulfilling your New Year’s resolutions…whatever they may be. (I’m promising myself to try to shed the pounds I’ve accumulated since Thanksgiving!) You may have noticed some activity around the rectory these past weeks. Soon after arriving in Ojai, I discovered that when the rectory was constructed in the early sixties it included a privacy wall enclosing the area outside the kitchen and dining room. At some point, I’m given to understand that one of my fellow Augustinians decided to remove it for reasons unknown. In conversation with my brothers in community I decided to replace it in order to give us some private outdoor space to enjoy. This project has been paid for by the
Augustinian Community. Another discovery I made was that the rectory garage was long overdue for a roof replacement. Not only our vehicles but also parish records are stored in the garage, and I discovered that water was pouring in through the roof every time it rained. I’ve authorized the roof replacement to be paid for out of the Parish Building Fund.
Wishing you all a blessed week.

Goodbye Letter from Brian

My Dear Parish Family,
“Tell the world that I have loved it more than I have ever dared to say.” I remember seeing these words somewhere in Fr. Pat Keane’s office when he interviewed me when I was preparing for Confirmation in high school. These words must have resonated with me because when I received Confirmation shortly after that interview, the prayer that I had in my heart was a prayer asking the Lord to help me do this with my life. Looking back at these last nine years in...Read more
