Rose Grimm

Happy feast of St. Matthias, dear family and friends!

Today begins the novena leading up to the feast of St. Rita on May 22, which is also the day of my mom's surgery. St. Rita was Rosie's greatly loved patronness, and my parents' Augustinian parish prays a special novena to St. Rita every year, so we feel it's a little special mark of God's love that her feast was the date selected for surgery.

We will be praying a novena to St. Rita, and would love it if you care to join us! If you want me to send you daily reminders, please let me know.

Holy Patroness of those in need, St. Rita, you were humble, pure and patient. Your pleadings with your divine Spouse are irresistible, so please obtain for me from our risen Jesus the request I make of you: for all Our Lady's intentions for Rose Grimm, especially, if it be God's will, an entirely successful surgery, an easy recovery, and her speedy and complete cure. Be kind to me for the greater glory of God, and I shall honor you and sing your praises forever. Glorious St. Rita, you miraculously participated in the sorrowful passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. Obtain for me now the grace to suffer with resignation the troubles of this life, and protect me in all my needs. Amen.

If you'd like to know a bit more about St. Rita (including her special connection with roses due to a miracle during her lifetime) here's a link: https://www.saintritashrine.org/life-of-saint-rita/

With love and thanks,

Wendy-Irene

National Eucharistic Revival

May 6, 2022

The Bishops of the United States are calling for a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. They believe that God wants to see a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist—and sent out in mission “for the life of the world.”

These three years will culminate in the first National Eucharistic Congress in the United States in almost fifty years. Almost a hundred thousand Catholics will join together in Indianapolis for a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage toward the...Read more
